Bill S.
Have you made AAPS aware of your situation? What state are you practicing in? It has been our experience that unless individuals speak up, make the organization aware of their problems and get involved in addressing these issues, these problems will persist.

Bill S.

It's unfortunate that your experiences have led you to feel that way about the AAPS. It is a very political battle that they are fighting, and at this time, may not have the resources to be as effective as they would like to be. This will not always be the case.

The certificate that you hold represents the hard work and dedication you have towards the field of Emergency Medicine and it was not earned in vain.

The number of BCEM diplomates are growing and a new generation of diplomates will continue to fight with more vigor. With numbers come strength, and given today's healthcare environment, this alternate board will be a force to be reckoned with.

AAPS has done a horrible job marketing and promoting the legitamacy, if any, of the organization. Nearly every hospital i surveyed in the new york tri state area refused the certification. Your fighting a losing battle against ABMS with your current strategy. Face the facts there is no chance of every beating ABEM with your currrent management and legal team. aaps is a sham

I am a proud holder of the aaps certification. can tell you the certification is worthless in today's market. To anyone thinking about using the certification, dont bother. AAPS is a sham organization that couldnt win a lawsuit if there life depended on it. bill carbone is a clown. ive been turned down from every decent hospital ive applied to based on aaps alone. the certificate is a path to financial ruin. its poison. stay in your original specialty.

I have found something and I want to hare it with you. Pretty fun about middle age.
5. Middle age is when you go to the doctor, and you realize you now have to pay someone to look at you naked.

4. The good news about middle age is that the glass is still half-full. Of course, the bad news is that it won’t be long before your teeth are floating in it.

3. You know you are getting old when you go for a mammogram, and you realize it is the only time someone will ask you to appear topless in film.

2. Middle age brings the wisdom that life throws you curves… and that you’re now sitting on your biggest ones.

And the number one reason why being middle aged could be a downer…

1. It’s very hard to “get jiggy with it” when you’re middle aged. Jiggly, yes. Jiggy, no!!!

I have to go to a pain clinic every 30 days for medicine. The Doctors and staff at the clinic are so rude and,if their is an error on the prescription and you notice it right away, you have to make another appointment within 2 weeks, even if it's the Doctor's error. They make me feel like a drug addict, and they do other patient that way too, it's not just me. One of my family members is so intimidated by the pain clinic, when she does go, she has to take a nerve pill to get over the visit. I also had to take something for my nerves the last visit I had with the clinic. It's so wrong. I complained to my primary doctor's nurse and she told me all the pain clinics are in a click together and they share information about patients, so getting another doctor isn't the answer. I wish I didn't have to take pain meds. I absolutely hate going to the doctor.
